NACBA reflections

That little ribbon on my name tag was so exciting to see!

Last week was my big NACBA conference. Houston, I'm sure, is a lovely place, but it didn't really look like it from my hotel room. It rained a lot while we were there. This was pretty much the gloomy view the whole week!

Still, we were inside and it was fine. One of my favorite parts of the conference was getting to meet and genuinely connect with some awesome people! I was way more nervous than I ever am when I do a theater show, but I'm still so glad I did it. Speaking about something you love is way easier than I thought it would be. It also didn't hurt that I had great support in the room.

Evan snapped the above pic while I was giving my talk. I can't think him and everyone at Fishhook enough for believing in me and believing I had something valuable to add to this first communications fast track. It was humbling to be among such awesome speakers, presenters and church collaborators!

Overall, it was a great experience, and I would do it again in a heartbeat if asked. There are definitely some things I would do differently, but I'm happy with the way I represented myself, my church and the people that asked me to be there!
